10/07/07 - Scarlet's Remains live @ Purple Turtle, London

Had an amazing evening yesterday at Purple Turtle. I made it there quite late so was almost sure that missed all the bands except the headliners, but was really surprised to see VARSOVIE on stage, who played really cool dancy post-punk spiced up with lyrics in French (I L.O.V.E. songs in French - give me more!!! lol). SO it was a nice start. I missed almost the whole performance of the second band - Striplight, cos was rel busy chatting with homies. Was real nice to see Greenie and Nick & Erica from Another Species (btw - it's a great band!)

After a brief set up and Cavey Nik's opening speech Scarlet's Remains started playning the finest deathrock tunes. They played a couple of the new songs and all the hits including my fav - Far from Paradise. The level of professionalism of Californians was impressive as well as their energetic performance definately gives them the right to be recognised as one of the best and the the most important in the contemporary Deathrock scene. A blend of great sound, unique vocal style of Eveghost, powerful drums by Tony Havoc and catchy guitar riffs together with the chilled and friendly atmosphere at the show made Scarlet's Remains performance a truly unforgettable event.

P.S. Many thnx to Cavey Nik for the organisation.
